About Our School

Heights Christian Schools - Brea Friends Campus was established as a service to the families and children of this community. This service grew from a sincere love for children and a desire to help them in the proper development and adjustment in our modern world. Our mission is to educate students to know Christ personally, excel academically, think biblically, and positively impact their community for Christ.

Fully Accredited

Our school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools an Colleges (WASC). Being accredited by WASC certifies to the public that our school is a trustworthy institution of learning. It validates the integrity or our school program and student transcripts. It ensures that our school is about the process of continual improvement, and so much more. Accreditation is a continual cycle that takes place every six years.

The Big Five (ESLRs)

In order to accomplish our school mission, we have identified and outlined five Expected Schoolwide Learning Results (ESLRs), more simplistically known as The Big Five. Graduates of Heights Christian Schools will...

  1. Be Like Jesus. Spiritually growing individuals who know Christ personally and recognize God as the author of truth, order, creativity, and morality. Students will develop and articulate a Christian worldview based upon biblical principles.
  2. Solve Problems.  Critical thinkers who utilize problem-solving skills from a distinctly Christian worldview (Philippians 4:6-9).
  3. Show What You Know. Effective communicators who receive, interpret, and convey information with the purpose of skillfully expressing themselves for their faith.
  4. Reach Out. Community participants who practice responsible citizenship and patriotism, and demonstrate the compassion of Christ by being sensitive to the needs of others and contributing
to meet those needs (1 John 3:16-18).
  5. Use Your Talents and Abilities. Enriched individuals who exhibit their God-given spiritual, academic, social, physical, and artistic talents to achieve success.

Elementary Grades TK-4th

Our school currently serves students in grades: TK, K, 1, 2, 3, 4. School hours are 8:30am to 3:00pm, September-June. We offer extended day care for elementary students before and after school from 6:30am to 6:00pm.

Our campus has, and will, offer 5th grade based upon enrollment needs. Bus transportation is available from the Brea campus to both our La Mirada campuses for grades 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th.

Transitional Kindergarten (TK)

Transitional Kindergarten (TK) is the "gift of time". This beneficial program is for students who are turning 5 between September and February, but are not quite ready for Kindergarten yet. TK has the same classroom structure as Kindergarten, but in a smaller setting. It is a part of the elementary campus and is full-day. TK students get to participate in field trips, library, computers, and more! TK is a great way to prepare your child for their educational future!

An Affiliate of FRM

Our school is an affiliate of Family Resource Ministries (FRM). FRM is a non-profit religious organization founded in 1981. FRM serves as the District Office for our school system. The desire of FRM schools and staff is to bring children and their families, through the learning process, into a relationship with the person of Jesus Christ.
